Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to everyone who uses the Octopot website and platform: client company users, recruitment and HR consultancies, candidates who apply and take part in interviews, and visitors. By using the platform you accept these terms. Commercial terms with business clients are set out separately in the Service Agreement. For how personal data is processed, see our Privacy Policy.

📜 What the Platform Is

Octopot is an AI-powered platform for hiring and careers:

Client companies: Publish jobs, receive applications, evaluate candidates with AI, run interviews and manage hiring
Candidates: Build and optimise their CV, write cover letters, prepare for interviews; apply to client companies' jobs, answer screening questions, take part in AI interviews and track their applications in the candidate portal
White-label use: Some clients offer the platform under their own brand; in that case the company or agency you applied to is your counterparty
Hiring decisions: Octopot is not an employer or employment agency; client companies make hiring decisions

👤 Accounts and Security

Rules for accounts on the platform:

Accurate information: Account and application information must be accurate and current
Password security: You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for activity in your account
Company accounts: Company user accounts are created and managed under the client company's authority
Unauthorised access: Report suspicious activity immediately to support@octopot.co

🎙️ Candidates and AI Interviews

When you apply to a job or take part in an interview:

Sharing: Your application and interview results are shared with the company you applied to
Recording: AI interviews may be recorded as audio and video; you are informed before the interview starts
Honesty: Taking an interview on someone else's behalf or using tools to give misleading answers is prohibited
Evaluation: AI evaluation supports decisions; outcomes and communication are the responsibility of the company you applied to

🚫 Prohibited Uses

The following uses of the platform are prohibited:

False information: Fake identities, fake jobs or misleading information
Discrimination: Unlawful discriminatory jobs, screening rules or evaluations
Unauthorised data use: Using candidate data for purposes other than recruitment or exporting it without permission
Automated access: Unauthorised bots, scraping or excessive load
Security violations: Any attempt to compromise platform security
Illegal activity: Using the platform for unlawful purposes

⚖️ Intellectual Property

Rights in the platform and content:

Platform: The software, design and the Octopot brand belong to Octopot
User content: CVs, documents and jobs you upload belong to you or the client company; you permit their processing as needed to provide the service
No copying: Copying, reverse engineering or distributing the platform without permission is prohibited

⚠️ Limitation of Liability

Limits on use of the platform:

Service: The platform is provided 'as is'; uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed
Hiring outcomes: Neither a job for candidates nor a hire for client companies is guaranteed
AI output: AI-generated CVs, cover letters, scores and reports can be wrong; check them before use and use them together with human judgement
Third parties: Octopot is not responsible for client companies' jobs and decisions

🔚 Termination of Access

Account and access conditions:

Users: You can close your account at any time
Octopot: Accounts that breach these terms may be suspended or closed
Data: When an account is closed, data is deleted according to the periods in the Privacy Policy

⚖️ Governing Law and Changes

General provisions:

Governing law: Laws of the Republic of Türkiye
Jurisdiction: Istanbul courts and enforcement offices (consumer jurisdiction rules remain reserved for consumer transactions)
Changes: These terms may be updated; the current version is published on this page
